Springing into action
Many of our staff took part in a Pedometer Step Challenge
during October and November of last year. There were three
people in each of seven teams, all of which were given quite
imaginative names – Agony to Defeet, Sole Survivors, Dark
Horses, Motionally Challenged, Spongebob Exercise Squad, The
Trollers and Walky Talkys. A fairly intense competitive edge was
quickly generated, with people finding ingenious ways to fit in
more steps for each day.
Alberto Sepnio, CAD Designer in Control Systems, was our
undisputed step champion, with a one day record of 24,749
steps. Walky Talkys won the team competition with the highest
daily average/person across the eight weeks of 12,999 steps.
Their prize was to give $500 to a charity of their choice – the
Child Cancer Foundation. The photo shows Alberto and Liz
Atkinson - Community Fundraising and Events Manager, receiving
Ergo’s cheque.
