Intermediate/Senior Protection Engineer

Our Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Tauranga offices are busy, and our team is growing. We are looking for an Intermediate/Senior Protection Engineer.

You will be an intermediate or senior protection engineer who will have extensive protection experience with HV/MV distribution and/or transmission projects.

You will have:

  • HV/MV asset protection setting experience.
  • 8+ years post graduate engineering experience developing protection schemes, protection settings, relay configuration files and protection reports along with reviewing protection design. 
  • Experience carrying out Power system analysis using tools such as DIgSILENT and Sincal.
  • Be passionate about Engineering.
  • Be degree qualified (Washington accord).
  • A strong technical knowledge of specifications, standards and codes.
  • Lead technical discussions with clients to determine the optimal solution to meet their needs.
  • Develop and review protection standards/philosophies for clients and internal use.
  • Assist in motivating, mentoring and training team members. 
  • CPEng accreditation, or on your way to achieving it
  • An analytical approach to problem solving.
  • The capability of demonstrating and living our values of being agile, genuine, and having an inspired, passionate approach to Engineering!
  • Citizenship, or a suitable visa to allow you to work in NZ.

Responsibilities include:

  • Producing high-quality deliverables that leave no questions unanswered.
  • Guiding and developing our junior engineers aspiring to be protection engineers.
  • Actively contribute to successful project inputs, monitoring and outcomes.
  • Delivering successful project documentation and outcomes required to deadlines and budget.
