Our Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Wellington, and Christchurch offices are busy, and our team is growing. We are looking for Project Managers, preferably in the Wellington region, but all regions considered.

 

Do you have a proven track record as a Project Manager in the New Zealand or Australian utility sector? We are seeking an established Project Manager from the electricity supply, or adjacent, industry to join our team delivering exciting design and construction projects for our key clients.

Reporting to the Section Lead for Project Management, our PM's deliver the following:

  • Substation build and refurbishment projects.
  • Transmission and distribution overhead line refurbishment, upgrade, and construction projects.
  • Internal management of Ergo’s diverse range of design projects. From civil through to protection design.
  • Engineering investigation projects. Spanning investment investigation for network operators through to prospective new generators.
  • Management secondments. Where our clients require it, our PM’s are embedded into our clients’ businesses providing management and/or professional services support.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in construction/ engineering or a technician/trade background and is working in a project management capacity.
  • Experience within the electricity infrastructure industry or extensive expertise in another infrastructure sector (e.g. water, transport, gas).
  • Great communication and relationship building skills. We need our people to have the confidence to be client facing.
  • A passion for being part of a growing team and contributing to the growth of our business.
  • An understanding of the PMI/Prince2 Project Delivery approach is helpful, but not necessary.
  • Candidate must be legally entitled to work in NZ; and
  • Have a valid NZ Drivers licence.

An Ergo PM is expected to:

  • Accept responsibility of, and manage all phases of project delivery, from initiation through to closeout.
  • Confidently manage and build relationships with all stakeholders such as the client, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Assemble and manage design teams.
  • Draft and manage programmes.
  • Manage and report on budgets, both internal and external.
  • Manage the tender process, both sell and buy.
  • Administer construction contracts. Knowledge of NZS3910 or NZS3916 or similar construction contracts is beneficial, but not necessary.
  • Produce high-quality project reports and written correspondence.
  • Travel periodically for project assignments.
