We’re proud to have undertaken the design for Powerco’s new Kaimarama switching station in the Coromandel region. The switching station was required to connect Lodestone Energy’s 33MW Pāmu Rā ki Whitianga Solar Farm to Powerco’s existing 66kV network. The solar farm was successfully commissioned in November 2025 and has the capacity to power almost 7,000 households.  

 Ergo’s scope included:

• Completion of a Wide Area Protection Study
• Concept and Detailed design including:
  
  • Civil/structural
  • Primary
  • Secondary
• Protection settings packages
• Construction and commissioning support
